It's more than a love story...it's a reckoning

When I started writing My Kind of Love, I didn’t know I was telling my own truth in disguise.
I thought I was just crafting a spicy polyamorous romance set in New Orleans. A security consultant with secrets. A cowboy-accountant with a soft heart. A psychology professor rediscovering her desire after loss. The club. The night. The spark.
The more I wrote, the more I realized: This isn’t just a love story. It’s a reckoning. A reclaiming. A soft place to land after grief, loss, and choosing yourself again.
Bronsen, Zeke, and Ynobi taught me that love doesn’t have to look the way we were taught it should. That healing isn’t always quiet. That pleasure, too, can be a form of prayer.
💫 What to Expect
My Kind of Love is coming August 2025 — and it’s not shy.
It’s bold. Intimate. Poly. Above all it's black women being loved relentlessly in all forms, in every way. And hot enough to fog up your screen, or singe your fingers depending on how you choose to read it. It is about what happens when three broken people decide to stop surviving and start reaching for something real. Together.
🔥 Until Then...
This blog will be your backstage pass. Behind the scenes. Inspiration. Music. Moodboards. Sneak peeks. And will offer the truth behind why I took a cruise to Cabo... just to get the background story right.
If you’ve ever grieved hard, loved harder, or chosen softness after being hardened by the world —This book is for you.
You are home here.
See you soon,
Skyline A. Milbow
